Respondus Test Editor - The Respondus Test Editor is available for Taylor faculty in the creation of exams. Contact 4040 to request access to the install file.
Office 2016 - Information Technology has begun roll out of the new Microsoft Office 2016 productivity suite to Taylor-owned computers. As part of our software licensing agreement with Microsoft, current employees can take advantage of online Office 2016 Training covering several Microsoft products.
VPN Access - A Virtual Private Network allows employees to establish a secure, encrypted connection to Taylor's network via any non-Taylor Internet connection. This is especially helpful while working from home or on the road. Note that a VPN connection is not required for access to Taylor email from off-campus but is required to access Banner from the on-campus, wireless network. Install VPN from On-Campus / Off-Campus
Backups - Information Technology has configured university-owned, Windows 7 computers to store user documents on a Taylor server. This makes a backup of your Documents folder unnecessary. However, Taylor does not provide server space for music, pictures, or videos. Read our Backups Tutorial for more info. SPAM Filtering - Taylor provides SPAM filtering via the Barracuda SPAM filtering device. Incoming messages are scored based on how 'spam-like' they are. The higher the score, the more sure Barracuda is that the message is SPAM. Lower scoring messages are delivered to your mailbox. Read the SPAM Tutorial for instructions on raising or lowering the level of filtering applied to your email.
Malicious Software - Many free programs offered for download include undesirable add-ons and plug-ins which can negatively affect the performance of your computer. Some include malware! Use caution when installing non-standard software.
Windows Patches - Information Technology uses the Microsoft WSUS patch management solution to deploy security patches to Taylor-owned, Windows-based computers. While the download and installation of most security patches is handled behind the scenes, some patches require user intervention in the form of a computer restart. Microsoft eLearning - Current Taylor employees are eligible to participate in Microsoft Online Learning. Courses cover Windows and Office Essentials. Sign in with your Microsoft username and password at Microsoft eLearning to get started.

Apple Support - I.T. supports network connectivity and access to network resources from Apple computers. More advanced Mac support is available, direct from Apple, by contacting their academic support line at 800-800-APPLE (800-800-2775). I.T. also recommends contacting Signature Mac of Fort Wayne, (260) 484-4634, an official Mac resource provider. I.T. has completed testing and found significant advantages to binding a Taylor-owned Macintosh to Taylor's domain.
